You have the venue, caterer, your coordinator, dj and now time to hire the bartender. Believe it or not, every bartender aren't professional. Nor every do every bartender actual care about your event. Often you are referred to as a gig. At QES, we think of you as a client! Whether you hire us or someone else here are 3 important questions you should ask your provider.
ARE YOU INSURED?
There is a good chance someone will be beyond tipsy at your event. During your entertaining,it will be impossible to monitor everyone. This is a major duty for your hired bartender, cutting people off at the right time. This will save you from confronting a drunk friend as well as preventing the after party unimaginable. Insured companies tend to give more attention to these types of situations.
Also how is the alcohol closed out at the end of your event? Are half bottles emptied? Will they dispose of the bar area trash?
WHAT IS THE RATIO OF BARTENDER TO GUESTS?
Very Important to know. If you have 200 guests at a 4 hour (or more) event, 1 Bartender will guarantee at least 1 drink per guest and maybe some few angry guests.
Most importantly, personalities matter. No one wants to be served by a distracted bartender.
HOW DO YOU ASSIGN YOUR EMPLOYEE TO AN EVENT?
Don't allow a company to just send a warm body. This is your event! You want a professional and personable attendant serving your drinks.
These are just a few questions to ask. I hope this have you really thinking. Before you sign a contract, create a list of questions. Good luck!
